With the winter storm projected to hit Birmingham, AL with its full strength Monday evening/Tuesday morning, Samford closed its campus and announced everything on Tuesday will be conducted online. As such, the Athletic Department announced several changes to athletics. Today's Volleyball match against Wofford continued as previously scheduled, but was closed to the public. Samford swept the match 3-0, winning 28-26, 25-15, 25-22. The official recap of the match can be found here. Samford also announced that Softball's midweek matchup on Wednesday the 17th with Alabama State would be rescheduled to March 23 (a Tuesday). No official announcement was made regarding Football as they start their week of practice before traveling to Johnson City, TN to take on the ETSU Buccaneers this Saturday. Women's Basketball practice is held early in the morning, and will only be postponed to later in the day on Tuesday. The Women will host ETSU this Thursday and Saturday as the regular season enters its last full week. The Men's team has not yet received any news on travel changes as the Bulldogs are set to travel to Greenville, SC to take on Furman on Wednesday. Before everything shuts down for the next 24-48 hours, remember to grab the only two necessities: milk and bread... three necessities if you count a King Cake since tomorrow is Mardi Gras. Roulez les bon temps!
