(R - MS) Gov. Tate Reeves New Bill Against Transgender Athletes in Schools

With the new Biden administration taking office there have been a number of executive orders signed including a bill that allows transgender women to compete in women's sports in all schools. The purpose of this bill was to not discriminate against anyone for their sexual orientation and have gender equality. The outcome however was not as good as they would have hoped. Many people view this bill as an infringement on how women's sports are played and the effects that could come with having a biological male playing against biological females.

This controversy has taken the nation by storm and could have significant effects on the sports world as we know it. There is one lone state however that has already begun to formulate a way to counter this order set by President Biden. Governor Tate Reeves (R-Mississippi) said last Thursday that he would sign this bill in order to "protect young girls from being forced to compete with biological males for athletic opportunity". Governor Reeves has 3 daughters of his own whom play sports and has realized the possible affects this new order could have on them and many other girls around the nation.

Personally, I agree with Governor Reeves and back this new bill 100%. If I had my own daughter, thank God I don't, I wouldn't want her competing against biological males in their sports simply because males are biologically stronger then women by nature because of their hormones. There is a reason why there are separate sports for separate genders and when people allow biological males to compete with girls the males are more than likely going to be faster and stronger which could cause an uneven playing field. Some members of the community supporting the transgender bill have come out and said that the new Mississippi bill is targeting and bullying the kids that are transgender. This I disagree with simply because its not "bullying" anyone, they can just play the sports the way they are biologically made to excel at. It is an interesting time in our nation as of the last year and these new orders are adding a whole new spice to the mix.

There is also the problem with biological girls playing transgender girls and having athletic scholarships or recognition taken away from them because they are competing against a physically superior person. It is all up for speculation obviously, but these are some of the issues that I believe those who support the Biden bill don't understand. Whenever you pit a biological female to a biological male in sports, the majority of the time the male will win. As I said before there is a reason the genders are split up in sports and it is because there is an equal playing field.

A possible solution to this would be creating co-ed sports teams, like intramural sports, and having an equal number of men and women on each team to stay fair and equal. The transgender bill is supposed to be about equality among sports, based on sexual orientation and gender identity, but it seems like it is creating more division than anything else.
